Shudder
by Samantha Durante
Book 2 in the Stitch trilogy
It's only been three days, and already everything is different.
Paragon is behind her, but somehow Alessa's life may actually have gotten worse. In a wrenching twist of fate, she traded the safety and companionship of her sister for that of her true love, losing a vital partner she'd counted on for the ordeal ahead. Her comfortable university life is but a distant memory, as she faces the prospect of surviving a bleak winter on the meager remains of a ravaged world. And if she'd thought she'd tasted fear upon seeing a ghost, she was wrong; now she's discovering new depths of terror while being hunted by a deadly virus and a terrifying pack of superhuman creatures thirsting for blood.
And then there are the visions.
The memory-altering "stitch" unlocked something in Alessa's mind, and now she can't shake the constant flood of alien feelings ransacking her emotions. Haunting memories of an old flame are driving a deep and painful rift into her once-secure relationship. And a series of staggering revelations about the treacherous Engineers - and the bone-chilling deceit shrouding her world's sorry history - will soon leave Alessa reeling...

TOP 10 RAVING FAN MOMENTS FROM THE
SUMMER-LONG SHUDDER TOUR
~ Review at Literary Meanderings:
Can I
just freaking say how much I LOVE this series?! Stitch was good. Shudder?
AMAZINGLY AMAZING!!! I can't even express how much I just LOVE LOVE LOVED this
book. Everything about it was perfection.
As
with it's predecessor, Shudder is packed with mind-blowing twists and
revelations. The thing that amazes me most is that Samantha hides these things
from us so well!! I mean, seriously... had I not been sitting down already, I'd
have been knocked flat on my ass. It's jaw-drop surprising. And the best part?
It's not just one thing! Nope. Samantha delivers blow after blow in the way of
plot twists. I'd seriously like to peek inside her mind. It's got to be amazing
in there!
~ Review at Mom With A Kindle:
Ohhhhh
my! I just finished reading Shudder, as in I just turned the last page on my
Kindle and ... WOW! I need to take a minute before I can dive into how awesome
this book was...... Ok (taking a deep breath) three words; unbelievably, fast
paced. Shudder hit the ground running and never slowed down...
If you
haven't read Stitch GO GET IT NOW! :) Shudder will not leave you disappointed
at all. ... And just like me now, I am having to wait on the last book in the
trilogy STUCK! I can't wait!! Samantha!!!

at A Dash of YA:
When I read Samantha Durante’s debut novel, Stitch, I was blown away. Samantha had so skillfully woven a punch to the gut into her story that I didn’t even see it coming.
“Punch
to the gut?” you ask. “Did the book physically attack you?”
I nod,
not really sure how to explain it without giving away spoilers.
The
sequel, Shudder, was the reader recovering from that punch, internally bleeding
a little (I’ll get to that part later), and slowly trying to piece together
where the punch came from.
~ Review
at Bookish Treasures:
Samantha is a master of suspense; everything
is shrouded in mystery so you are never quite sure what is going on.
~ Review at A Dream Within a Dream:
This is a truly captivating second novel in an exciting and
intriguing trilogy. It's just as addictive as the first book and
definitely leaves the reader begging for more. The plot is very well written
with a fast pace and effortless flow, which makes it almost impossible to put
down. The characters - especially Alessa - continue to be well rounded and
realistic, which makes it easy to identify with them throughout the book. The plot
itself is fantastic - it blends together so many varying genres that it seems
to defy being labeled. It continues to mix aspects of adventure, dystopian,
science fiction, paranormal romance, action, and mystery. This is one of those
books that will leave you thinking about it long after you've finished reading
it
~ Review at City of Books:
Shudder is one of the best dystopians I've read
so far! It's so intense, so captivating. There's a lot in it, and it's so well
written. The action, the suspense, the thrill... All of it will leave you
begging for more. I know I am! Samantha, you've really set the bar with this
one. I enjoyed every second of it.
~ Review at Parajunkee:
The way Samantha builds this world is great... both horrifying
and hauntingly beautiful.
